Important: these pages are not legal advice. Dummy company name, address, CIN, GSTIN, and officer names are placeholders — have qualified counsel verify them, align subprocessors and retention, and complete any India DPDP / intermediary registrations before you rely on them commercially.

Please read these Terms carefully. They form a binding agreement between you (“you”, “your”, “User”) and Cosmo Tara Private Limited (“Tara”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They govern access to and use of Tara’s website, mobile applications, and related online services (the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, AI Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer, each incorporated by reference.

If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must meet the minimum age and capacity requirements in your jurisdiction (typically at least 18 years old). You may need an account to access certain features. You agree to provide accurate information, safeguard credentials, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account except where compromise results solely from our negligence.

2. What Tara is (and is not)

Tara is a digital companion that offers astrology-style guidance through software, including AI-generated language layered on computational chart context. Tara is not a human astrologer and there is no marketplace of human astrologers in the product. Natural-language responses may be produced using services such as Google Gemini; chart-style calculations may rely on Swiss Ephemeris–compatible libraries (for example pyswisseph). Outputs can be mistaken, incomplete, or culturally misaligned despite safeguards.

The Services are provided for reflection, culture, spirituality, and general information. They are not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other regulated advice. In emergencies, contact local emergency services.

3. Changes to the Services

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, personas, pricing, or infrastructure with reasonable notice where practicable. We are not liable for third-party API or model outages outside our reasonable control.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Violate applicable law or third-party rights.
• Harass, threaten, defraud, or harm others.
• Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services, breach security or authentication measures, or access data not intended for you.
• Scrape, crawl, bulk export, or resell the Services except through documented APIs we expressly permit.
• Reverse engineer client apps except to the limited extent allowed by mandatory law.
• Misrepresent outputs as coming from a licensed human professional or official government determination.
• Circumvent billing, timers, rate limits, or wallet controls, or assist others in doing so.

We may investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement where permitted.

5. User content and license

You retain rights in content you submit. To operate the Services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable (to successors in a merger), sublicensable license to host, process, transmit, display, and create derivative improvements (including aggregated or de-identified learnings) solely for providing, securing, and improving the Services and enforcing these Terms. Moral rights are waived to the extent permitted by law.

6. Intellectual property

Tara branding, UI, prompts, documentation, and compiled software are owned by us or our licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Services for their intended purpose. Except where law forbids restriction, you may not copy our proprietary assets, training methodology, or confidential benchmarks.

7. Payments, wallets, subscriptions, and taxes

Certain features may require payment, wallet top-ups, or subscriptions. Prices, taxes, and billing cadence are shown before you confirm a transaction where required by law. Payments may be processed by partners such as Razorpay; their terms and privacy notices also apply. You authorize us and our processors to charge your selected payment method.

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which controls if it conflicts with general marketing copy.

8. Third-party services

The Services rely on subprocessors (for example cloud hosts, model providers, push notification services). Their availability and terms may change. Your use of third-party integrations you enable (for example Google Sign-In) is subject to those third parties’ policies.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that outputs will meet your expectations. See also our Disclaimer.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tara and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Services, even if advised of the possibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Services in the six (6) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred Indian rupees (₹100) if you have not paid us. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted.

11. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Tara and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Services, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you breached these Terms, pose a security or legal risk, or must comply with law. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity, governing law, and dispute resolution) will survive termination.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another jurisdiction’s laws. Courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable rights you have under consumer protection rules in your place of residence. Before filing a claim, the parties will attempt good-faith negotiation for at least thirty (30) days after written notice to [email protected].

If mandatory law gives you the right to sue in a different court, that right remains unaffected to the minimum extent required.

14. Export and sanctions

You represent that you are not located in a comprehensively sanctioned country and are not on a government denied-party list. You will comply with applicable export control laws.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable advance notice where the law requires (for example thirty (30) days) by posting an updated version, in-app notice, or email to your registered address. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Services.

16. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement. These Terms and the policies linked above are the entire agreement about the subject matter.
• Severability. If a provision is invalid, the remainder remains enforceable.
• No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale of assets.
